PA MEDI
Program to guide older adults through the complexities of completing forms and solving problems relating to health insurance. MORE INFO: PA MEDI
Forms
Help is available for filing Rent/ Property Tax Rebates, PACE applications and insurance forms. Forms will be completed by appointment only.
Equipment on Loan
Wheel chairs, walkers and other equipment are available for short-term use.
Shopping Assistance
Volunteers and agency staff provide shopping assistance, banking and bill-paying for the home-bound who have no family member who can provide assistance.
Legal Services
Legal assistance is available to eligible older adults through a one-time consultation with a local attorney.
Ombudsman
An Ombudsman is available to mediate concerns and advocate for rights of older persons residing in long term care facilities or receiving any long term care service. The Agency recruits and trains volunteers wishing to represent the Ombudsman Program in long term care facilities.
Transportation
The Agency will provide rides to senior centers, banks, grocery stores, doctor and hospital appointments, other medical appointments and other agencies, when no other means of transportation is available. There are limitations to some transportation services. Forty-eight-hour (48) notice must be given.
Escorts are provided when needed. Transportation will be provided to the service closest to the client’s residence. A lift van is available for disabled older adults.
Volunteers
Volunteer programs provide a varied array of opportunities for older adults to serve other older adults and their community at large. This program also provides opportunities for persons of all ages to participate in providing services to older adults. MORE INFO: Volunteer Opportunities
